Following the success of our inaugural campaign, PAD-A-Girl 1.0, PSN-YPG Lagos returned with even greater purpose for PAD-A-Girl 2.0 — held at Bolade Senior Grammar School, Oshodi, in commemoration of Menstrual Health Awareness Day 2025.

This year, we reached and uplifted over 230 schoolgirls, equipping them not only with free sanitary pads, but also with the knowledge, confidence, and voice to manage their menstrual health with dignity.

Why PAD-A-Girl 2.0 Matters

Menstruation continues to be a barrier for many girls in underserved communities — a reason to skip school, feel ashamed, or suffer in silence. Our goal is simple but bold: end period poverty and empower girls to thrive, every day of the month.

This second edition deepened the foundation we laid last year — showing up not just with materials, but with conversations that matter.

What We Delivered:

We watched the transformation unfold — from shy glances to confident questions, from discomfort to clarity. Girls who had never spoken openly about their periods left with a new sense of agency and pride.

“Last year was impactful, but this year felt even more personal,” said one of our team leads. “These girls are starting to own their voices.”

The Journey Ahead

With PAD-A-Girl 2.0, we’ve proven that this movement is growing — in scale, in depth, and in meaning. But we are far from done. Period poverty is still real. The silence is still loud in many places. But so is our resolve.

We’re grateful to every volunteer, partner, and school leader who made this possible.

We will keep showing up. Because every girl deserves access, dignity, and the freedom to learn — without interruption.
