The Young Pharmacists Group (PSN-YPG Lagos) recently made a significant impact at the Task Shift/Task Sharing (TSTS) Policy Review Workshop, organized by the Lagos State Ministry of Health in collaboration with the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) Foundation. Our participation highlights the growing influence of young pharmacists in shaping healthcare policies and improving access to quality healthcare services in Nigeria.

Our Key Contributions
At the workshop, we actively reviewed and refined the TSTS Policy documents from the Federal Ministry of Health, focusing on critical healthcare areas such as:
- Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs)
- HIV and Tuberculosis
- Malaria and Other Public Health Concerns
We also played a pivotal role in revising the TSTS Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure they align with global best practices. By contributing to these crucial discussions, we reaffirmed our commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery and ensuring pharmaceutical policies reflect contemporary standards.
Support from the PSN Foundation
The PSN Foundation, as the humanitarian and mentorship arm of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), continues to provide invaluable support to young pharmacists. Through mentorship, advocacy, and professional development initiatives, they are shaping the next generation of leaders in pharmacy and healthcare policy.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Pharm. Munir and the PSN Foundation team for their unwavering support in advancing the role of young pharmacists in Nigeria’s healthcare landscape.
A Promising Future for Young Pharmacists
With continued mentorship, collaboration, and active engagement, young pharmacists are poised to drive meaningful change in healthcare policy and practice. Our involvement in the TSTS Policy Review Workshop is just one example of how we are making an impact.
As we push forward, PSN-YPG Lagos remains committed to advocating for young professionals, influencing healthcare decisions, and shaping the future of pharmacy in Nigeria.
