The first quarter of 2025 has been nothing short of transformative for the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria – Young Pharmacists Group (PSN-YPG) Lagos. With a clear vision and a passionate team, we hit the ground running this year, committed to empowering young pharmacists across the state and building stronger ties within the pharmaceutical ecosystem.

Our Q1 General Meeting, held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, brought together over 100 young pharmacists in Lagos for a day of connection, reflection, and renewed purpose. The session opened with a welcome address by our State Coordinator, who outlined our vision for the year and reaffirmed our commitment to being a driving force in the professional development of young pharmacists.
Following the opening remarks, Chi Pharmaceuticals, our Q1 meeting partner, led insightful product presentations that showcased innovations in patient care and clinical effectiveness. We appreciate their support and continued belief in the potential of young pharmacists to shape the future of healthcare in Nigeria.
Highlights from Q1 2025
Beyond the meeting itself, Q1 was packed with impactful activities and strategic collaborations:
- Institutional Visits: We strengthened our relationships with key players in the industry through courtesy visits to organizations like Jawa Pharmaceuticals, Greenlife, Chi, and Wholeshield Pharmaceuticals, as well as leadership engagements with the PSN President and ACPN Chairman.
- Professional Development Initiatives: From our Cervical Cancer Awareness Training and Reflux Management Training with Reckitt, to webinars on Obesity Management and partnerships with platforms like JobMingle for digital skills training, we empowered our members with tools that go beyond traditional pharmacy roles.
- Public Health & Policy Engagement: We actively contributed to the Task Shifting/Task Sharing (TSTS) Policy Review Workshop in collaboration with the Lagos State Ministry of Health, reinforcing our role in shaping meaningful healthcare policy.
- Innovation and Capacity Building: In partnership with ARC_ESM, we launched the Pharma Supply Chain Innovation Hub webinar ahead of its official rollout in April—an initiative aimed at improving pharmaceutical logistics through stakeholder-driven solutions.
- Internal Affairs: We resolved workplace conflict issues among members and introduced an official feedback mechanism to support healthier work environments for young pharmacists across Lagos.
As we reflect on these milestones, one thing is clear: the drive, dedication, and unity of our members continue to be the heartbeat of PSN-YPG Lagos. The energy from Q1 has set the tone for the months ahead, and we’re excited for what’s to come.
To our members, partners, and mentors—thank you for your support and belief in our vision. Together, we’re shaping a brighter, more empowered future for young pharmacists in Nigeria.
